Diocese of Raleigh Vocation Poster Content

Diocese of Raleigh Vocation Poster Content

In November, the Diocese of Raleigh sponsored their first ever Vocations Poster Contest. Students in grades K-8 were invited to create hand-drawn posters that depicted vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Life. A panel of judges at the Diocese reviewed all entries and chose the top fifteen posters.

Five of our Faith Formation students created posters for the contest. Emma Mejia (Grade 1), Kimberly Perez Melchor (Grade 1), Emmie Roberts (Grade 2), Yaxna Luna Reyes (Grade 4) and Olivia Roberts (Grade 5). Each of our students worked diligently to create an innovative poster and we are so proud of each of them. Their posters are pictured below and are on display in our Parish Hall.

Our own Olivia Roberts was chosen as one of the Diocesan winners! Olivia, her parents, Mandy and Derrick, and Father Jairo attended the celebratory lunch in Raleigh with Bishop Luis Zarama and Fr. Michael Schuetz (Director of Vocations) on March 4.

                                    CONGRATULATIONS, OLIVIA!!

Our own Olivia Roberts Poster was chosen as one of the Diocesan winners!

One word of advice: Come to a migrant mass. Even if you don’t feel called to volunteer in the ministry long term, just going will activate your missionary muscles, something that we as Catholics are so often unwilling to do. Doing so will be a rewarding experience and a great lesson in becoming an evangelizer.
